This is of course not the sole application such a system may offer.
This document gives a brief technical overview along with some of our proposed terms and conditions.
The equipment is available for inspection at our storage facility in Belgium, by appointment.
We would be grateful for the opportunity to provide a detailed quotation and in the meantime should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. AMPHIBIOUS MOTORIZED PONTOON SYSTEM (AMPS)
Introduction We have available a quantity of high quality ex-French Army reserve stock, Amphibious Motorised Pontoon System (AMPS) units for sale. The complete system comprises: Semi-Trailer mounted modular Bridge/Ferry section Semi-Trailer Mounted Launch Ramp section 6 x 6 Prime Mover Tractor units. AMPS is a tactical and logistics capability and can be deployed either as a Bridge compromising a continuous assembly of motorised floating modules or as motorised pontoon Ferry built in modular form to accommodate the load and/or the operating environment. AMPS is ideal for use in emergency response and disaster relief operations where bridge or river crossing infrastructure have become absent or damaged. It provides operational managers with the ability to facilitate the rapid deployment of a logistics capability to support medical services and food distribution. Originally designed for Military operation, the construction is immensely robust whilst remaining simple and reliable in operation. AMPS features fast deployment with minimal manpower; can sustain loads of over 70 tonnes in 3.5 metres per second currents and can be launched and recovered from transition up to 3 metres above water level. AMPS are a proven platform and are in service with three European armies. A specification is included at Annex A. AMPS are transported, launched and recovered by dedicated semi-trailers from unprepared banks and are autonomous once in the water. They require no additional means such as bank preparation dozers or tug boats. Land mobility is excellent thanks to their design, their reduced weight and powerful Renault 6x6 Prime Mover. We hold enough stock to provide a floating bridge of over 100m in length or alternatively, 3 motorised pontoon units, each capable of carrying in excess of 60 tons on a 30m deck. Although our stock is approximately 10 years old, it can be considered as new having never been deployed in active service. The accrued usage is due solely to scheduled maintenance.

PONTOON BRIDGES AND FERRYING
FLOATING DISMOUNTABLE ROAD BRIDGE
Floating dismountable road bridge is designated for establishing bridge and ferry like crossings over medium and large water obstacles.
Floating dismountable road bridge is a form of belt consisting of folding double-pontoon river and land units connected by quick operating butt joints, which incur loads from the traffic on the bridge.
Fixation to the land is performed by means of transitional units assembled from land units. In special cases transitional units cab be assembled from an intermediate pontoon, a fairing pontoon and one pontoon part the river unit mounted between two latter. |
