skyfire weapon system av-sf-70

From new manufacture

Skyfire Weapon System can be integrated to several different aircrafts, as jets, helicopters and propeller aircrafts.

The system is based on the 70 mm high accuracy rocket Skyfire that could be configurated with several differents types of warheads and a Rocket Launher for seven or nineteen rockets.

This system includes a comprehensive package of Integrated Logistic Suport, with test equipment set, cleaning kit, operational and maintenance training, technical documentation and spare parts compatible with the performance and operational characteristics demanded by the current standards of the defense market.

ammunition

The AV-SF-70 Skyfire Weapon System ammunition is the result of an independent development combining battle proven and state of the art aerospace technology. The System ammunition is composed by unguided rockets with 70 mm (2.75") using composite propellant, wrap-around fins and spin stabilization in flight with higher kinetic energy and superior accuracy. Each rocket is composed by a rocket-motor and a warhead with fuse.

The rockets can be launched from airborne Launchers that are compatible with the American MK66 rockets and may be utilized with a variety of aircraft, from helicopters to high performance aircrafts.

The AV-SF-70 rockets are packed “ready for use” into a single protecting package and delivered in wooden box with four rockets.

Warheads

 AVC-70 he M1-A  -  high explosive WARHEAD

The AVC-70 HE M1-A warhead, equipped with the AVE-70 M9-B ogive fuze, is used as antipersonnel/antimaterial weapon for area saturation.

The warheads are charged with high explosive, and the antipersonnel effect is obtained when the warhead lateral body is fragmented. The warheads are to be used against personnel (either sheltered or exposed), troops transportation vehicles, ammunition depots, fuel tanks, etc.

MULTIPLE LAUNCHER

The SKYFIRE System can be configured with one or two launchers at each side of the aircraft.

AIRBORNE MULTIPLE LAUNCHERS

The Airborne Rocket Launcher is designed to be used with the SKYFIRE 70 mm Rocket System as an air-to-ground weapon. It is compatible with a variety of aircraft from helicopter to high performance jet or propeller aircraft. They are also compatible with a variety of 70 mm (2.75”) rockets, like the folding fins SBAT-70 and MK4/ MK40 or the wrap-around fins Skyfire and MK66.

The airborne multiple launchers are reusable launchers. The launcher suspension consists of two lugs compatible with bomb racks, which incorporate a NATO standard 14 inches suspension. The launchers also have provisions for grounding all firing circuits. Each launcher is delivered with a protecting cover and a special tool for rocket extraction from the tube.

This description is considering the seven tube launchers AV-LM 70/7-SF M9 (with intervalometer).

The launchers are normally supplied without frontal fairing, which can be ordered optionally.

Maintenance and TEST EQUIPMENTS

In order to be able to guarantee the perfect operational conditions for the Skyfire Weapon System, the System includes test equipments, special tools and maintenance materials and procedures for Launchers and Rockets.

ROCKET test equipment

A Rocket Test Equipment is included in the System to quickly test the good state of the electrical ignitor  of the rocket-motor.

Launcher test set

The Launcher Test Set is composed by a Launcher Test Equipment to quickly test the electrical continuity of the Launchers cabling and a Firing Simulator. This Simulator is a test equipment  that simulates the firing pulses coming from the aicraft firing box to fire the rockets in the launcher. It allows to test the electrical system operation of the Launchers without the presence of the aircraft.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING KIT

A Maintenance and Cleaning Kit for the Launchers is included in the System to be used at the aircrafts Base.

Rocket extraction AND CLEANING KIT

A portable Rocket Extration and Cleaning Kit for the Launchers is included in the System. It is an airborne tool bag to be used when the aircraft has landed far from its Base.

Training aids and OPERATIONAL AND MAINTENANCE TRAINING

A package of operational and maintenance training is included in the ILS package as well as Training Aids to fulfill the necessary training.

SPARE PARTS

The ILS package includes a suggestion of Initial Spare Parts List, which should be purchased in order to ensure the availability of spare parts and consumables for immediate costumer support.

TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION

A complete set of operation and maintenance manuals, firing tables and part catalogs will be supplied with the proposed Skyfire rockets and multiple launchers.
