MODULAR VEHICLE FRAGMENTATION PROTECTION SYSTEM

Please find a modular vehicle fragmentation protection system, which has been developed in response to an urgent requirement for very low cost portable protection systems.

The basic concept is the use of encapsulated Kevlar for Seat And Leg Protection, Door Protection and Floor Protection to provide fragmentation protection to STANAG 2920 1.1 gram FSP V50 @ 500mps and 600 mps.

These items are low in cost and can be used in a variety of vehicles to offer an element of 'practical' fragmentation / ballistic protection when used in conjunction with body armour and other protective systems and moved from vehicle to vehicle as the operatives use different vehicles.

The floor protection systems are fitted to all LandCruisers and are in use in with UK MOD, FCO as are the Seat And Leg Protection Systems which are also in use with UK MOD.

MODULAR SYSTEM

The modular system comprises of three main parts:

A Floor Blast and Fragmentation Blanket - available in a number of different sized templates, offering protection from under - vehicle blast attacks.
A Seat and Leg protector - Offering back and leg protection to the driver / passengers whilst seated in the vehicle.
A Door Protector - Easily attached to the inside door panels to provide side protection to the driver / passengers.

PROTECTION

The materials used can offer substantial protection to the vehicle driver / passengers:

Fragmentation Protection:
V50 > 600 m/sec for 1.1g FSP (Fragment Simulating Projectile) according to NATO STANAG 2920.

Blast Protection:
Resists 2 x DM51 at 28cm according to BKA (Germany).

Projectile Protection:
Meets level FB2 (9mm pistol) according to EN1522

WEIGHT:

The Fragmentation Protection Kit is low weight with the seat cover and door protection weighing around 20 kg per system and the floor matting weighing - kg per m².

COMFORT:

The seat protector is made from Aramid material. It is also encapsulated in heavy PVC and is covered in textured foam and trimmed in Alcantara to mimic a vehicle seat. Provides comfort and absorb poisture.

COMPATIBILITY:

Each part of this modular system is designed to fit a wide range of vehicles, so can be switched between vehicles as required, and is firmly secured in place with easy to use belts and buckles. It also has the capability to change between rear and front, or left and right sections inside the vehicle itself.
