Transparent Areas

Multiple layers of float glass, PVB and Polycarbonate are laminated to form transparent armor capable of defeating level B6 and below. Glasses are finished up with a splinter protection shield (PC).

Blast Resistance

Floor areas are a dual skin construction armored with 2.5 mm of stainless ballistic steel and bomb blanket, molded to form fit contours of floor boards and panels. This is capable of defeating 2 German Ordnance DM51 hand grenades detonated simultaneously in an area of one square meter

Armor Overlaps

Where transparent armor and opaque armor meet additional armor is required to prevent a ballistic orifice. For this reason overlapping armor is applied to cover the transitions between transparent and opaque armor

Warranty

Due to the extensive armoring the OEM Warrantee no longer applies to the vehicle. Supplier warranty is against faulty workmanship and materials is 1 year unlimited miles and in strict accordance with the terms & conditions of the manufacturer

Product Liability

Supplier does not warrant against loss of life in any way.

Test Report and Certifications

Test reports by recognized testing facilities can be provided on request for all the materials employed including glass, steel, ceramics and / or aramid fiber.

Mechanical Upgrades

The supplier certifies that the armor retro fitted commercial vehicle has been structurally modified to compensate for the additional weight to ensure that the car is drivable and roadworthy. Specific attention is given to the suspension, brakes and hinges. Due to increased load on the vehicle, parts will wear sooner which can be prevented by regular and appropriate maintenance.

Window functionality

Driver side window is operable by 4 inches to allow document and money pass-through.

Services

An up-armored vehicle should be serviced at 5000 mile intervals. Due to additional weight suspension, brakes and tires will need replacement more often than a regular vehicle

Spare part availability

OEM Parts are available through the OEM distribution network.

Armor Repair

Armor repair can be executed at an existing workshop specializing in armor repairs. Steel armor can be readily replaced at their premises and the required bodywork and painting can be done locally.
