Armored Cash-In-Transit Vehicles

Description of CIT protection

There are 3 levels of protection for all Chinese cash-in-transit vehicles (CIT), level A, level B and level C. The protection includes ballistic protection and anti-riot protection. Level C is the highest protection level and most of Chinese CIT under use now is Level A protection.

  1. Anti-Riot Protection

When CIT is under a condition of parking and engine-off, the cash box can not be taken out of cash cabin under ruinous ttack at the vehicle’s weak parts by stated tools within net work time of 30 minutes.

  1. Stated tools of each protection level

  2. Level A: hammer (3.6kg), pickax, axe with 800mm long stick; crowbar and similar tools (less than 600mm), chisel and similar tools (360-400mm); hand-hold hacksaw, screwdriver, file, pliers, spanner; portable electric drill with 2mm and 12mm alloy drill head.

  3. Level B: Level A plus industrial acetylene cutting or incision.

  4. Level C: Level B plus TNT test (total weight of TNT 227g, density 1.56g/cm3, two deploying positions x 113g/each position, the time used for TNT deploying shall be within the net work time of 30 minutes.)

Notes: There are three compartments for Chinese CIT: drive cab, escort compartment and cash cabin. The passenger area (drive cab and escort compartment) is ballistic protected, cash cabin is anti-riot protected. Also we can armor the IT as per customer’s requests.
