Transparent Areas

Glass:

  •   Windshield, side glass and rear glass will be bullet-resistant transparent multi-layer glass with polycarbonate inner layer to prevent spalling upon ballistic impact.

  •   Glass will be curved and contoured to retain the appearance of the original glass and be provided from Isoclima or equivalent source.

  •   All transparent areas will be tested and certified at CEN B6 with a thickness of 39mm.

  •   Driver side window operable.

Armor Overlaps

Where transparent armor and opaque armor meet additional armor is required to prevent a ballistic orifice. For this reason overlapping armor of at least 2 is applied to cover the transitions between transparent and opaque armor

Mechanical Upgrades

The supplier certifies that the armor retro-fitted commercial vehicle has been structurally modified to compensate for the additional weight to ensure that the car is drivable and roadworthy. Specific attention is given to the suspension, brakes and hinges. Due to increased load on the vehicle, parts will wear sooner which can be prevented by regular and appropriate maintenance.
