Antonov An-72 P
Year of construction: 1996
Country: Ukraine
City/Aerodrome: Kiev
Description: This aircraft is an affordable and powerful successor to the P3C Orion and C-130 Hercules. It has both a patrolling and a transport capability.

In its current presence the a/c is set up as a patrol
aircraft with surveillance equipment and a 23 mm gun.
Patrolling time: 5+ hours, patrolling speed: 300 - 350 km/h, patrolling height: 500 - 1000 m.
As a patroller, this An-72 has many advantages over the ubiquitous P3C Orion:
- Powerful turbofan propulsion.
- High-lift wing/engine configuration, providing unpaved-
  field and STOL capability.
- Capable of both patrolling and CARGO duties, thus
VERY flexible. Get 2 aircraft for the price of one.
- Relatively lower priced than worn P3C Orions.
- Very well adaptable to suit the operator's needs.

The airplane can be optimized for cargo operations and become the true C-130 / An-12 successor, the one that has never been built by Western countries. The An-72 will prove your solution if you want to get rid of ever-increasing C-130 maintenance costs.

Empty weight: 42,000 lb (19,050 kg)
MTOW: 76,060 lb (34,500 kg).

Remaining before overhaul: 5,000 hours, 5,000 flights.
Service life: 30,000 hours, 10,000 flights, 30 years.
Interior: Transport capacity: 40 PAX / 20 paratroops / 11,000 kg cargo load.
